Senior Automation and AI Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Automation and AI Engineer to join our innovative team at ZIRKEL8. This remote position allows you to work directly with our founder and contribute to the development of production-ready automation and AI systems for businesses. You will integrate APIs, deploy code on servers, and create Claude Skills while working with cutting-edge tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and n8n. As a Senior Automation and AI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients, primarily in the e-commerce sector, scale their operational processes using AI.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready automation and AI workflows for clients.
• Integrate APIs from various platforms (REST, Webhooks, OAuth).
• Develop n8n workflows and Claude Code Skills.
• Deploy code on Linux servers using Docker and SSH.
• Evaluate AI tools and implement them for client projects (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity).
• Analyze processes and break them down into automatable steps.
• Set up and maintain Notion as an operations hub for clients.
• Create technical documentation and hand it over to clients.

Requirements

• Strong process-oriented thinking with the ability to break down complex workflows into automatable steps.
• Familiarity with the current landscape of AI tools and their appropriate applications.
• Technical background with coding skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Bash.
• Experience with server management (SSH, Docker, Linux).
• Proficient in API integration (REST, Webhooks, OAuth).
• Experience using Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools effectively.
• Knowledge of Notion and its application as an operations hub.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results.
• Fluent in German (native level) and English (fluent).

Nice to Have

• Experience in e-commerce automation projects.
• Familiarity with additional programming languages.
• Prior experience in a startup environment.
