Senior OpenStack Cloud Migration Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior OpenStack Cloud Migration Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role focuses on leading large-scale infrastructure transformation and cloud migration initiatives. As a Senior OpenStack Cloud Migration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in migrating workloads from VMware-based environments to OpenStack infrastructure while enabling modern containerized platforms and infrastructure automation. You will collaborate closely with cloud platform, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to design, migrate, and optimize highly scalable cloud environments.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support cloud migration projects from VMware environments to OpenStack platforms.
• Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Deploy and support containerized workloads using Kubernetes.
• Configure and manage KVM-based virtualization infrastructure within OpenStack environments.
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based systems across cloud and platform environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of cloud services.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment workflows.
• Document migration architecture, processes, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with OpenStack cloud environments.
• Experience migrating workloads from VMware to OpenStack or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Experience with KVM virtualization.
• Ability to work in distributed engineering teams and fast-paced environments.

• Experience with cloud platform engineering or DevOps environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
