Senior Narrative Designer - Innovative Game Development

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Narrative Designer to join our team at Elsewhere Entertainment, where you will contribute to the development of an exciting new intellectual property. This Senior Narrative Designer remote position allows you to unleash your creativity while collaborating with a team of skilled developers to create innovative and engaging gaming experiences.

What You'll Do

• Develop foundational lore for a new intellectual property.
• Collaborate with the narrative team and other departments to create compelling game locations, characters, and plots.
• Write and revise game dialogue and cinematic scripts.
• Take narrative ownership of key features within the game.
• Design, write, and implement various storytelling elements and in-game text.
• Craft detailed backstories for characters and locations.
• Become proficient in using the game’s narrative tools.
• Provide constructive feedback on team members’ work and mentor junior designers.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a professional Narrative Designer or related role.
• Strong writing and editing skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Creativity in problem-solving and a positive, respectful attitude.
• Experience pitching narrative concepts clearly and effectively.
• Comfort with self-critique and accepting feedback.
• A passion for playing and understanding modern video games.

Nice to Have

• Experience with writing for AAA games and one or more shipped titles.
• Familiarity with technical narrative design and visual scripting.
• Published writing in various formats (novels, short fiction, etc.).
• A love for diverse video game genres.
