Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join our team at GE Aerospace. This remote position plays a crucial role in implementing reliability strategies at our Huntsville Site. You will report to the Site Facilities Engineering Manager and facilitate Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies to enhance equipment availability and drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the sustainable implementation of RCM across the site, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Define and maintain asset strategies that align with plant performance goals.
  • Evaluate and apply predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis and thermography to monitor asset health.
  • Analyze equipment performance using Pareto methods to prioritize work activities and resource allocation.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) activities from a reliability perspective to ensure long-term asset performance.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) teams to troubleshoot chronic equipment issues.
  • Collect and analyze reliability data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Actively coach and mentor team members to build reliability knowledge and facilitate learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or a high school diploma with 4+ years of reliability experience in a chemical manufacturing site.
  • A minimum of 5 years of reliability experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Practical knowledge of reliability processes such as RCFA, FMEA, and Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA).
  • Hands-on experience with predictive technologies including ultrasound and vibration analysis.
  • CMRP or CRL certification is strongly preferred.

Nice to Have

  • 10-15 years of reliability experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with highly regulated, process-intensive operations.
