Security Operations Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Security Operations Engineer to join our team in a remote capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their cybersecurity career to gain exposure to a high-performance, technology-driven environment. You will work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to support secure operations at scale. As a Security Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the day-to-day security posture of a complex, globally distributed platform while contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Manage incoming security requests and operational tickets, ensuring timely resolution.
• Execute day-to-day security tasks such as access provisioning and deprovisioning.
• Handle permission management and firewall rule updates.
• Support identity and access management (IAM) processes, ensuring adherence to security policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to maintain secure operations.
• Maintain and improve security documentation and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational efficiency and control effectiveness.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT operations, or technical support.
• Familiarity with enterprise security tools (e.g., identity providers, firewalls).
• Experience working with ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNow.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Consistent and structured approach to following processes and identifying improvements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Genuine interest in building a career in security operations.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud security tools.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or similar.
