Senior Java Developer - Relocation to Abu Dhabi

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Java Developer to join our team at Discovered MENA. This Senior Java Developer remote position is essential for designing and developing scalable, high-performance backend systems. You will collaborate with senior developers, architects, and product leaders to drive the technical direction of our projects. Relocation to Abu Dhabi, UAE is required, where you will work in one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in the world.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement high-performance backend services that power next-generation communication technologies.
• Engage in end-to-end product development, covering architecture, design, testing, and deployment.
• Tackle complex technical challenges in a world-class engineering environment.
• Build scalable pipelines and distributed systems to support R&D initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of services.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of professional experience in Java (Java 8+).
• Strong backend engineering skills with experience in Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices.
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledge of high-performance, low-latency systems.
• Experience with REST/gRPC APIs and WebSocket/SSE integrations.
• Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito.
• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
