Senior Game Designer - Casual Puzzle Games

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Game Designer to join our team and help shape the long-term player journey of Minecraft Blast! This remote Senior Game Designer position offers a unique opportunity to work with our New Games Studio, where you will contribute to the development of a casual puzzle adventure set in a playful interpretation of the Minecraft universe.

What You'll Do

• Design and evolve core meta systems of the game, including player journeys, feature flows, and the connective systems that tie gameplay, rewards, and long-term engagement together.
• Collaborate closely with Creative Leadership, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and fellow designers to ensure the meta layer of Minecraft Blast provides players with clear goals and satisfying progression.
• Prototype and explore new meta gameplay ideas, helping expand the game’s design space and long-term depth.
• Maintain high design quality, ensuring systems remain intuitive, scalable, and aligned with the game’s creative vision.
• Document and communicate design intent clearly, helping cross-disciplinary teams understand how meta systems work and support the player experience.

Requirements

• Strong passion for casual puzzle games and core gameplay design.
• Proven experience designing core gameplay systems, mechanics, and level interactions in successful games.
• Experience working on mobile games, particularly free-to-play titles.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage design tasks from concept through to delivery.
• Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in written documentation.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Minecraft and the wider IP is a strong plus.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, balancing creative, technical, and product perspectives.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to use player data and testing insights to guide iteration.
