Senior Full-Stack Engineer - AI & Big Data Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our innovative team at UPPER, a Hamburg-based startup dedicated to optimizing industrial supply chains through advanced AI and big data technologies. As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer remote, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our cutting-edge software platform that helps customers save millions while ensuring operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Own features end-to-end, from frontend to backend and database, ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Work collaboratively within the Applications Team to develop and refine solutions without rigid hierarchies.
• Deliver feature increments that enhance the product's enterprise readiness and self-service capabilities.
• Resolve bugs effectively to prevent recurrence, improving overall product reliability.
• Build monitoring and testing frameworks to detect issues proactively before they affect customers.
• Continuously enhance the developer experience for faster and smoother delivery cycles.

Requirements

• Strong coding skills in React, TypeScript, and Node.js (or similar technologies).
• Solid intermediate-level experience with databases and GraphQL.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Cypress and Jest.
• Ability to lead projects or major feature initiatives effectively.
• Strong communication skills to engage in constructive technical discussions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Hasura or similar GraphQL middleware.
• Good understanding of CSS fundamentals (box model, flexbox, styling).
• Background in event sourcing for complex workflows.
• DevOps/Cloud experience to improve internal productivity.
• Experience integrating AI systems (e.g., chat, recommendations, automation).
