Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer to join our innovative team at Elements. This fully remote role is pivotal at the intersection of engineering and customer delivery, where you will be responsible for building production-grade integrations and custom workflows that embed Elements into our customers' core systems. As a Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with the founders and enterprise clients to ensure our platform delivers immediate, high-stakes value in the field.

What You’ll Do

• Partner directly with enterprise finance teams to translate complex operational challenges into working technical solutions.
• Design and ship production-quality connectors between Elements and customer systems using Java (Spring Boot) and React.
• Act as the "voice of the customer" for the engineering team, turning field insights into core product features.
• Build scalable, observable workflows that prioritize security, performance, and long-term stability.
• Collaborate closely with founders and core engineers in a high-autonomy environment.
• Establish delivery best practices and integration playbooks as the team grows.

Requirements

• Strong engineering foundation with a track record of building and scaling production systems.
• Strong functional background in finance or accounting - ideally a CPA or a Bachelor’s in Finance - to bridge the gap between technical code and complex financial workflows.
• Ability to navigate complex enterprise environments and turn ambiguous requirements into technical architecture.
• Deep understanding of application architecture, system design, and API patterns.
• Ownership mindset with experience in zero-to-one or customer-facing engineering environments.
• Technical judgment to balance shipping high-impact solutions with maintaining engineering standards.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, or similar technologies.
