Senior Food Scientist - Egg Product Innovation

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Food Scientist to join our team remotely. As a leading specialty egg company in the United States, we are looking for a passionate individual with a strong background in food safety and product development. This Senior Food Scientist remote role will allow you to drive innovation and quality in our egg-based products.

What You'll Do

• Lead research and development initiatives for egg-based products, focusing on formulation and process optimization.
• Apply your expertise in egg functionality to meet customer-specific requirements.
• Conduct pilot trials and scale-up activities to evaluate processing impacts on functionality and shelf life.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Operations, and Sales to support product commercialization.
• Serve as the technical authority on food safety and microbiology for egg processing.
• Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, and GFSI standards.
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership across projects.
• Maintain accurate records of formulations, trials, and test results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in food R&D, particularly in egg products.
• Strong hands-on experience in food formulation and testing.
• Expertise in shelf-life modeling and microbiological data analysis.
• Professional certifications such as HACCP or SQF Practitioner.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with further-processed egg products.
• Knowledge of food regulations and safety systems.
• Experience in statistical analysis related to food safety.
