Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our innovative team at Dover. This remote position offers the opportunity to design, implement, validate, and maintain embedded software for our advanced printing technologies. As a key member of our engineering team, you will work collaboratively to ensure product quality and safety while adhering to industry best practices.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and validate high-quality embedded software as part of an Agile team of engineers.
• Help define and implement best practices and tools to improve team efficiency, effectiveness, and software quality.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry standards and advocate for continuous improvement in areas such as unit testing, system testing, and automation.
• Contribute to high-level and detailed software estimation to support planning activities.
• Interface with other engineering teams and stakeholders to understand application space and business requirements.
• Participate in and lead design reviews, contributing to improvements in design and code quality.
• Build and apply a strong understanding of Markem-Imaje and our competitors’ printing technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience developing software.
• Demonstrable record of developing high-quality embedded software for end-user products.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Knowledge of C++, multi-threaded programming, and real-time operating systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Experience working with external engineering partners is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing embedded software in an industrial printing domain.
• Knowledge of verification skills such as test-driven development and unit testing.
• FPGA (VHDL) programming experience.
• Language skills in French, Italian, or Polish.
