Senior Electronics Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join our innovative team at Ooni. This remote position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of our products, transforming creative ideas into robust, production-ready solutions.

What You'll Do

• Lead the process of concept-to-prototype development, turning ideas into physical electronic systems.
• Generate detailed specifications and documentation for electronics requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners primarily in China to scale prototypes into production.
• Oversee testing and validation programs for electronic components, ensuring reliability and compliance.
• Provide technical support to cross-functional teams, helping to solve electronics-related challenges.
• Contribute to system logic development and define application layer behavior.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in electronics engineering, particularly in product development.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
• Proficiency in reading, creating, and troubleshooting schematics.
• Experience with EDA tools like Altium Designer or KiCad.
• Ability to write and debug C/C++ scripts for prototyping.
• Familiarity with embedded communication protocols such as I²C, SPI, and UART.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

Nice to Have

• Experience with power delivery systems including mains and USB-PD.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
