Senior Distributed Systems Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer to join our team at Artie, a leading real-time streaming platform. This Senior Distributed Systems Engineer remote position offers you the chance to work on cutting-edge technology that powers mission-critical applications for our clients. You will be part of a small, dynamic team based in San Francisco, but you can work remotely, allowing you to balance your work and personal life effectively.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement distributed systems that support high-volume data replication.
• Build tooling to streamline and automate infrastructure workloads.
• Develop column encryption and launch our analytics portal.
• Introduce pipeline efficiencies by optimizing tradeoffs between virtual memory and disk.
• Create native change data capture (CDC) connectors to enhance data source support.

Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in computer science and a pragmatic approach to engineering.
• Experience with scaling asynchronous systems and familiarity with technologies like gRPC, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Proficiency in Go is preferred but not mandatory.
• A willingness to jump around the stack and take on various roles within the team.
• Desire to define the next generation of data platforms utilizing stream processing and CDC.

Nice to Have

• Experience with TypeScript, React, Material UI, Postgres, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm on GCP and AWS.
