Junior Network Security Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are hiring a Junior Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team at Tana. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a leading global security company that specializes in managing and automating security processes. As a Junior Network Security Engineer, you will gain invaluable experience in real-world security environments while working alongside a globally distributed engineering team.

What You'll Do

• Install and configure network security software for new clients, supporting deployments across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Manage demo environments and assist with customer onboarding and early usage.
• Troubleshoot customer issues end-to-end, including remote debugging and log analysis.
• Participate in customer calls to guide setup, resolve issues, and ensure successful adoption of security solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally (Sales, Product, Delivery, Engineering) to enhance service delivery.
• Document, escalate, and track issues to resolution, contributing to internal knowledge and customer-facing technical content.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a Networking role (e.g., IT Networking, IT support, application support).
• CCNA or similar certification is required.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, firewall/security policies).
• Exposure to network security tools/vendors (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point).
• Excellent communication skills for client-facing interactions.
• A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

Nice to Have

• Basic experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and familiarity with Windows.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and common web vulnerabilities.
• Familiarity with network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, Fiddler).
• Scripting experience (Python and/or Bash).
