Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

Ollie is on a mission to improve the lives of pets and their owners, and we are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will contribute to our innovative pet food delivery platform, ensuring that our services are reliable, efficient, and tailored to the needs of our customers. As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer remote, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to create high-quality software solutions that enhance the customer experience.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain APIs and technical infrastructure that power Ollie’s subscription platform.
• Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers in an agile environment to deliver impactful features.
• Develop and integrate third-party services to enhance functionality and improve the customer experience.
• Write reliable, performant, and well-tested code that scales with our growing business.
• Continuously improve existing systems through refactoring, performance optimization, and automation.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing to uphold best practices and foster team learning.
• Troubleshoot production issues and help maintain a stable and resilient platform.
• Stay curious and explore new tools and technologies to improve developer experience and product quality.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience building applications in a Python framework (Django, Flask, etc.).
• 5+ years of experience building API systems, including REST and OAuth2 technologies.
• 2+ years of professional experience working in a frontend framework (React, Angular, etc.).
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.
• Experience writing unit tests and using version control (git, svn).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passionate about using technology to streamline business processes.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Open source community contributions.
• Familiarity with JSON Schema and OpenAPI documentation.
• Experience with NodeJS and Shopify.
• Being a dog owner or lover.
