Senior Director of Facilities - Global Strategy for Autonomous Defense

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Director of Facilities to lead our global facilities strategy at Shield AI, a pioneering venture-backed deep-tech company dedicated to protecting service members and civilians through innovative autonomous systems. This Senior Director of Facilities remote position will allow you to shape the future of our facilities across various locations, including Dallas, Washington, D.C., London, Frisco, and San Diego.

What You'll Do

• Own and evolve Shield AI’s global facilities strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate offices, R&D labs, production sites, and SCIFs.
• Develop long-range capacity models that align with program growth and workforce expansion.
• Lead site selection, lease negotiations, and ground-up build-outs to meet program needs.
• Oversee capital planning and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for Facilities, focusing on cost optimization and vendor strategy.
• Partner with Security, IT, Legal, and Operations to ensure compliant and secure environments.
• Manage the design and management of SCIFs and classified spaces in accordance with U.S. government requirements.
• Oversee the build-out of newly leased international sites, ensuring alignment with security and operational needs.
• Deliver a thoughtful workplace experience that enhances productivity and employee engagement.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive facilities leadership experience, including global oversight.
• Experience in production or manufacturing environments, ideally within aerospace, defense, or robotics.
• Deep expertise in building secure environments and SCIFs.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing significant capital budgets.
• Proven ability to lead international expansions and navigate regulatory requirements.
