Senior DevOps Engineer - Remote Opportunity at Nearform

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team at Nearform. This Senior DevOps Engineer remote position offers a permanent full-time opportunity for candidates based in the UK. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support scalable and reliable applications.

What You'll Do

• Develop and manage cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Create and maintain deployment architectures and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Design high-availability and fault-tolerant solutions for applications.
• Implement monitoring frameworks, including dashboards, alerts, and escalation processes.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage containerized applications and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes.
• Ensure security best practices are applied across CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and microservices.
• Optimize system performance and scalability through observability and proactive monitoring.
• Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment workflows and improve DevOps processes.
• Advise clients on best practices for cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and system security.

Requirements

• Significant experience delivering at a Senior Engineer level with at least 6 years of commercial experience.
• Practical experience of developing real-world solutions in an agile environment.
• Strong experience managing and automating cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools, ideally Kubernetes (K8s).
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Scripting and automation expertise, preferably with Python.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with observability tools and monitoring frameworks for system performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of security best practices across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices.
