Senior DevOps Engineer - Remote Opportunity at CargoSprint

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our innovative team at CargoSprint. This Senior DevOps Engineer remote position is an exciting opportunity to empower the people that make global commerce happen. You will be a key player in managing our Kubernetes-based systems, enhancing observability, and ensuring production health. What You'll Do

• Own and improve our monitoring, alerting, and observability systems.
• Build dashboards and metrics that provide real insight into production health.
• Manage our Kubernetes infrastructure, focusing on resource allocation and diagnostics.
• Query data with SQL to understand system behavior, spot trends, and investigate anomalies.
• Design actionable and sustainable alerting systems to reduce fatigue and noise.
• Utilize AI to accelerate incident response and enhance observability workflows.
• Instrument the application codebase for better observability through structured logging, metrics, and error reporting.
• Fix bugs and contribute to the broader codebase as needed.
• Maintain and improve our infrastructure-as-code and deployment processes.
• Identify and document improvements that require deeper engineering work.

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries.
• Experience with Grafana or similar platforms, including building dashboards and writing queries against Prometheus, Loki, or comparable data sources.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and practical Linux knowledge.
• Experience designing effective monitoring and alerting systems.
• Proficient in Python, with the ability to read, modify, and ship production code.
• 4+ years of experience in a DevOps role.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Pulumi, Terraform, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and/or TimescaleDB.
• Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration systems.
• Background in logistics, supply chain, or similarly complex operational domains.
