Senior DevOps Engineer - Hardware Design Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our innovative team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). This Senior DevOps Engineer remote position focuses on enhancing our hardware design processes through Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CICD) practices. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing our workflows and ensuring that our engineering teams can efficiently develop and deploy high-performance computing solutions.

What You'll Do

• Develop, maintain, and evolve CICD processes tailored for hardware design, specifically digital chip design flows.
• Provide high-quality support to hardware engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and deployment.
• Refactor code to optimize execution across various environments, enhancing performance and reliability.
• Develop tools to maximize the efficiency of CICD processes targeting HPC infrastructures.
• Facilitate interoperability among tools and methodologies across different research engineering teams.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all processes and tools developed.
• Offer direct user support to hardware engineering teams, addressing and resolving issues as they arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (e.g., computer architecture, telecommunications).
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar DevOps role.
• Deep knowledge of GIT, specifically GitLab and GitHub.
• Experience supervising or advising colleagues in a technical environment.
• Participation in European and National research projects is a plus.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python or Bash.
• Competencies in critical thinking, interpersonal skills, proactivity, and teamwork.
• Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of hardware design processes and challenges.
