About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at n8n. As a Senior Design Engineer remote, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our product quality and consistency through exceptional design practices. Your main goal will be to elevate n8n’s product quality and consistency by ensuring design excellence across all features while building and scaling a world-class design system that bridges design with technical implementation.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the rollout and evolution of n8n’s design system, including creating and maintaining components in Vue.js.
  • Establish governance policies for the design system and ensure its consistent adoption across the product.
  • Review and refine features before release, ensuring they meet our high-quality standards for user experience.
  • Collaborate with front-end engineers to optimize performance and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Partner closely with product designers to ensure the design system supports their needs while maintaining consistency.

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with hands-on experience building production-ready components.
  • Proven track record of contributing to or maintaining design systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively across design and engineering teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with the Vue.js ecosystem and best practices.
  • Skills in creating micro-interactions, transitions, and animations that enhance user experience.
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.
