Senior Database Engineer - Remote Position

What You'll Do

• Identify and understand customer needs, applying sound database principles and theories to translate those needs into viable design solutions.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and effectively communicate concepts and ideas.
• Integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer-driven solutions.
• Utilize proven problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot database issues.
• Obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete necessary polygraphs.
• Work with Systems and Software Engineers to implement and modify backend databases.
• Virtualize or containerize databases as needed.
• Use Linux command line for database administration activities.

Requirements

• A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Database Engineering.
• Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) and Database Engineer (DBE).
• Proficiency with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, Postgres, or similar systems.
• Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a clearance.

Nice to Have

• Existing Security+ Certification.
• Experience with AWS and NoSQL database products like MongoDB and DynamoDB.
• Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication, and backups.
• Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements.
• Coding experience in SQL, Python, or Java.
