About the Role

What You'll Do

• Design reasoning tasks for AI models that enhance our understanding of biological experiments.
• Build comprehensive training datasets that encapsulate various aspects of biology, including experimental design and hypothesis generation.
• Create evaluation frameworks to assess reasoning quality and model behavior, influencing future evaluations and data strategies.
• Collaborate with scientific data strategy and engineering teams to identify and acquire relevant source materials.
• Set technical direction for reasoning data efforts, mentoring fellow data scientists in the process.

Requirements

• PhD in machine learning, computational biology, or a related quantitative field.
• Hands-on experience in laboratory science, particularly in biology, biochemistry, or chemistry.
• Experience in curating training data and developing tokenization strategies for reasoning models.
• Proven track record of methodological contributions, such as publications or open-source tools.
• Strong computational skills in Python and experience with large datasets.

• Familiarity with evaluation methodologies for complex tasks with ambiguous ground truths.
• Creative problem-solving skills and first-principles thinking regarding data structuring.
