Senior Data Scientist - AI & Machine Learning Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to join our team at American Family Insurance. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to develop, analyze, and model operational, economic, management, accounting, and other organizational data to measure the competitive performance of our business segments. You will evaluate potential operational changes and design new approaches and methodologies to enhance our data-driven decision-making.

What You'll Do

• Utilize machine learning and predictive modeling across various problem domains, building predictive models to support partner goals and organizational needs.
• Manipulate and investigate complex datasets, creating data requirements and model specifications necessary for development.
• Collaborate with partners and domain experts to identify critical questions and develop analytical approaches for modeling projects.
• Participate in the selection of research tools and design a common research process while brainstorming new opportunities and methodologies.
• Research and maintain awareness of industry best practices and business strategies, bringing in new ideas to develop our business.

Requirements

• Experience with Python, Cloud (GCP preferred), and LLM APIs.
• Demonstrated experience providing customer-oriented solutions or support.
• Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, and statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with version control for software development.
• Experience working with large amounts of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Solid knowledge of managing data at scale using data summarization, query, and analysis software and tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience in formulating, approaching, analyzing, and solving problems on massive datasets.
• Knowledge of industry best practices in data science and analytics.
