IT Programme Manager - National Security and Defence Technology

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Programme Manager remote to join a premier national security and defence technology leader. This is a unique opportunity to spearhead high-impact IT programmes across infrastructure, networking, and cyber security domains that protect critical UK operations.

What You'll Do

• Lead large-scale IT programmes from initial concept through to transition into live secure operations.
• Oversee complex technical workstreams involving high-level Infrastructure, Enterprise Networking, and Cyber Security frameworks.
• Manage programme governance, financial performance, and benefits realization for the Defence portfolio.
• Act as a strategic interface between technical engineering teams, secure operations centres, and board-level stakeholders.
• Drive risk mitigation strategies to ensure the continuous delivery of secure IT capabilities in high-threat environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an IT Programme Manager remote delivering complex, high-value technical portfolios.
• Strong technical background in modern Infrastructure, Networking, and Cyber Security environments.
• Mastery of structured delivery frameworks such as PRINCE2 or Agile methodologies to drive velocity and quality.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to influence at the Board and Senior Management level.
• Sole British National status with the eligibility and willingness to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance.

Nice to Have

• Experience with international teams and cross-border project management.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies in the defence sector.
• Previous experience in a hybrid working environment.
