Senior Data Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms across multiple concurrent projects, supporting analytics outcomes across Parts, Services, and ERP domains for a leading Australian automotive data company. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with advanced technologies and make a significant impact on our data engineering initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Architect, build, and optimize complex data pipelines using Python and Databricks.
• Define and enforce data modeling standards, pipeline design patterns, and best practices.
• Lead the design of scalable, maintainable data platform solutions.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of data products across Parts, Services, and ERP analytics workstreams.
• Ensure high data quality, integrity, and performance across all layers of the data platform.
• Manage and optimize data workflows within AWS cloud environments.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance across the team.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align on delivery priorities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Proven track record delivering data pipelines and analytics platforms in production at scale.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills, including experience working with international clients.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and influence architectural decisions.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, and Redshift.
• Familiarity with React for front-end data application development or visualization layers.
