About the Role
We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at CIT Strategic Outsourcing. This Senior Data Engineer remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in Germany, including Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, or Hamburg. You will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing robust data infrastructure that supports analytics, AI, and business intelligence across Europe.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to ensure seamless data flow.
- Develop and optimize data architectures and data warehouses to enhance data accessibility.
- Work with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets to derive actionable insights.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and engineers to deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance through rigorous testing and validation.
- Implement data integration and transformation processes using industry-standard tools.
- Manage data workflows using tools like Airflow or similar to streamline operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in data engineering or backend engineering.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, essential for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with big data tools such as Spark and Hadoop.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks.
- Knowledge of data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to manage data infrastructure.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts to design effective data structures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to tackle complex data challenges.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with machine learning frameworks.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
