Senior Data Engineer - Azure & AI Solutions

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Greystar, focusing on leveraging Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and DataBricks to meet our growing data demands. This Senior Data Engineer remote position offers the opportunity to influence how data is transformed into intelligent, scalable solutions used across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Engage in 100% hands-on development using Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Databricks, including developing and unit testing database and AI pipeline code.
- Own and maintain the Databricks data ingestion and output pipelines for applications such as greystar.com and Microsoft Customer Insights.
- Architect and maintain AI-ready data structures optimized for feature engineering and model consumption.
- Participate in the design of databases and feature stores to support operational and ML workloads.
- Create, deploy, and maintain ADF and Databricks Workflows pipelines, adhering to Greystar's standards.
- Perform analysis of complex data and document findings using AI-assisted tooling.
- Prepare and curate data for predictive modeling, including feature extraction and data labeling.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists and application developers to ensure outputs are well-documented and model-ready.
Requirements
- 6+ years of data engineering experience with a deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture.
- 3+ years of experience with Cosmos DB and DataBricks.
- Hands-on skills with SQL and No-SQL databases.
- Experience with Azure Data Lakes Gen 2 and batch ETL pipelines.
- Good experience with Python and machine learning frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Power Platform / Power BI.
- Familiarity with D365 Customer Insights platform.
- Certifications in Databricks or related technologies.
