Senior Data Engineer - AWS Migration Specialist (Remote)

About the Role

Join us as a Senior Data Engineer focusing on AWS migration in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering the final phase of a critical data platform migration from GCP to AWS. This opportunity allows you to work with a dynamic team based in the US East Coast while collaborating across EU time zones. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in Scala and Spark to ensure a seamless transition and optimization of data pipelines.

What You'll Do

• Deliver the final 30% of a complex data migration from GCP to AWS.
• Work with and adapt an existing Scala-based Spark codebase.
• Translate data pipelines for AWS compatibility and performance.
• Support Airflow (Python) orchestration for efficient data workflows.
• Ensure robust testing, validation, and monitoring across all data pipelines.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Scala and Apache Spark.
• Proven track record in data pipeline migrations, specifically from GCP to AWS.
• Solid understanding of testing, validation, and data quality assurance.
• Comfortable working with high-impact, business-critical datasets.
• Ability to work remotely and communicate effectively with a distributed team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes and Hive.
• Familiarity with SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
