Senior Compliance Advisory Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Compliance Advisory Manager to join our team at Monzo. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of banking while ensuring compliance with FCA regulations. You will play a pivotal role in advising on compliance matters related to Monzo’s Borrowing Collective, primarily focusing on mortgage credit broking.

What You'll Do

• Provide clear and accurate technical compliance advice to Product teams in Borrowing, focusing on FCA Handbook regulations.
• Advise on financial promotions, collaborating with Marketing and Financial Promotion teams.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with Compliance team members and first line Risk, Legal, and Audit.
• Support the vision and strategy of Conduct and Compliance Advisory.
• Promote a culture of compliance through training and coaching.
• Challenge policies to ensure great customer outcomes and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate on creating and updating compliance policies reflecting current regulations.
• Explore new ways to enhance Monzo’s compliance and conduct risk management.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Mortgage Conduct of Business (MCOB) rules and experience advising on mortgage broking regulations.
• Strong understanding of Consumer Duty and its implications.
• Hands-on regulatory experience, ideally within a bank or financial technology company.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and lead product initiatives.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and highly organized with the ability to work independently.
• Genuine interest in compliance as a competitive advantage.

Nice to Have

• CeMAP qualification (not essential but advantageous).
• Experience in the 3 lines of defence model.
• Proven ability to assess risk and recommend balanced solutions.
