Senior Android Software Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

This Senior Android Software Engineer role allows you to build scalable solutions for our extensive network of convenience stores across 19 countries.

What You'll Do

• Independently develop and maintain advanced features using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android Jetpack components within a modular and scalable architecture (MVVM/Clean Architecture).
• Collaborate with teams in the US and India to translate requirements into functional Android features.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives in an Agile/Scrum setup.
• Maintain high standards in code quality, testability, and performance.
• Write robust unit tests using JUnit and Mockito.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of professional Android development experience.
• Deep expertise in Kotlin/Java, Android Jetpack Components, and core frameworks.
• Strong command of dependency injection framework (Hilt), asynchronous programming (Coroutines, Flow), RESTful APIs (Retrofit), and local data persistence (Room).
• Proven track record of designing and delivering production-grade Android apps.
• Basic knowledge of payment gateway integration (e.g., Stripe, Braintree).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of representing Android best practices in stakeholder discussions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with mobile app performance optimization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud) for mobile applications.
