Senior AI Engineering Manager - Forward Deployed

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineering Manager - Forward Deployed to join our dynamic team at Adobe. In this remote role, you will lead a team of AI Engineers and Creative Pipeline Specialists to develop GenAI-powered content production systems for some of the world's largest brands. Your hands-on approach and technical expertise will be crucial as you write code, review pull requests, and make architectural decisions that drive our projects forward.

What You'll Do

• Lead by example, dedicating at least 30% of your time to technical work, including coding and reviewing architecture.
• Drive end-to-end delivery across multiple customer engagements, ensuring that every project ties back to measurable value realization.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier AI engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and speed.
• Set technical direction by guiding architecture decisions and enforcing engineering standards.
• Transform field-proven patterns into actionable product roadmap input, ensuring that your team's insights reach product strategists.
• Scale the organization by codifying successful practices into playbooks and reusable frameworks.
• Represent the organization externally, showcasing your team's work at workshops and industry forums.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams, with a total of 8+ years in software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI technologies, including LLM integrations and agent frameworks.
• Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, TypeScript/Node.js, and React.
• Experience in building content production systems or MarTech platforms, ideally within an agency or creative studio environment.
• Strong customer-facing leadership skills, with the ability to earn trust from enterprise customers.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environments and make sound decisions under pressure.

Nice to Have

• Experience as a technical founder or director at an agency.
• Familiarity with AI agents and their application in management workflows.
• Experience managing globally distributed teams.
