Senior Data Architect - Remote Position at UKY Justice Commission

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Data Architect to join the UKY Justice Commission. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to design and optimize enterprise data infrastructures that support analytics, AI, and business intelligence initiatives across Germany and Europe. As a Senior Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping our data strategies and ensuring the integrity and performance of our data systems.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement scalable data architectures and data models that meet business needs.
• Define data standards, governance, and best practices to ensure data quality and compliance with GDPR.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to optimize data storage and processing.
• Evaluate and implement new data technologies, platforms, and tools to enhance our data capabilities.
• Guide and mentor teams on data architecture principles and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Knowledge of big data frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a strong advantage.

Nice to Have

• Experience with data governance and security compliance (GDPR).
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and applications.
• Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
