Security Architect SME - Remote Position

About the Role

Valiant Solutions is seeking a Security Architect SME to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team! This remote Security Architect SME role offers the opportunity to lead the development of security architecture guidance, standards, and reference diagrams for on-premise and cloud platforms. You will support both macro and micro security design for a large government agency, working with leading-edge technology.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design of security architectures for both cloud and on-premise systems, ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of systems and their data.
• Develop Zero Trust security architectures and associated guidance, focusing on least privilege access controls.
• Assess and evaluate security postures, reviewing candidate architectures and identifying protection needs.
• Document security architecture throughout the system development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with NIST standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate functional needs into technical security requirements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing security architectures, referencing NIST security controls.
• 2+ years of experience designing Zero Trust Architectures.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native services.
• Extensive knowledge of NIST 800-53 and other NIST Special Publications.
• Proven ability to assess enterprise security postures and identify impacts from new systems.

Nice to Have

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or CEH.
• Experience with developing technical documentation and presentation materials.
• Familiarity with risk management frameworks and compliance activities.
