Safeguarding and Attendance Officer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Safeguarding and Attendance Officer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving attendance improvement and managing complex child protection issues. As a Safeguarding and Attendance Officer, you will provide essential support to the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring statutory safeguarding compliance and strategic attendance improvement are achieved.

What You'll Do

• Implement attendance strategies by effectively communicating with parents and stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed attendance data reports and process formal measures such as referrals for Fixed Penalty Notices.
• Manage the academy's safeguarding overview, responding to child protection issues and meticulously recording safeguarding incidents.
• Attend and provide reports following multi-agency meetings, including Child Protection and MARAC.
• Initiate referrals to external services like Social Care Direct as necessary.

Requirements

• Proven experience in safeguarding and attendance management within an educational setting.
• Exceptional communication skills suitable for a diverse audience.
• Strong time management and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to interpret complex situations and relate sympathetically to students.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a school environment.
• Knowledge of child safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with multi-agency working.
