About the Role

We are excited to offer a Rooms Summer Internship at Avion Hospitality, where you will gain hands-on experience in the hotel industry. This internship program lasts ten to twelve weeks and is designed to provide you with valuable learning objectives while working in various departments at The Windsor Court. As a Rooms Summer Intern, you will explore the operations track, food and beverage track, and management/sales track, allowing you to develop a well-rounded understanding of the hospitality sector.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in the Guest Service Gold program to learn the seven key service elements that create memorable guest experiences.
  • Work as a Front Desk Representative, greeting and registering guests, handling requests and complaints, and managing phone calls.
  • Assist as a Guestroom Attendant, cleaning rooms, replenishing supplies, and conducting inspections.
  • Engage in maintenance tasks, ensuring cleanliness and conducting safety checks for the pool and spa.
  • Gain experience in the Food & Beverage track by serving guests as a Restaurant Server and preparing food as a Kitchen Cook.
  • Understand management and sales through training on Avion Culture, revenue management, and sales forecasting.
  • Contribute to special projects that strengthen your sales fundamentals and market research skills.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or associate’s degree (A.A.) in hospitality, hotel, or tourism management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to express ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage difficult customer situations and respond promptly to service requests.
  • Adaptability to a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular hours as needed based on business demands.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality roles.
  • Familiarity with hospitality management software.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
