About the Role

We’re looking for a Remote Technical Support Engineer to join our dynamic team at Chainguard. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex problems and providing exceptional customer support. As a Remote Technical Support Engineer, you will be the go-to person for our customers, helping them navigate technical challenges with Chainguard Images. You will dig into technical mysteries, keep customers informed, and collaborate with our Engineering team to resolve issues before they escalate.

What You'll Do

  • Be the frontline agent: Triage, investigate, reproduce, manage, and resolve complex customer issues involving Chainguard Images.
  • Escalate wisely: Engage the Engineering team when issues require deeper technical insights.
  • Communicate effectively: Keep customers informed and satisfied while meeting service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Bridge the tech lingo divide: Clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users.
  • Document thoroughly: Create detailed write-ups of new issues and contribute to the Knowledge Base.
  • Channel your inner detective: Prioritize your workload and proactively guide issues to resolution.
  • Speak up smartly: Report bugs, feature requests, and other insights to Engineering and GTM teams.
  • Learn, teach, repeat: Embrace new challenges, share knowledge, and mentor others.
  • Be available: Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend, and holiday support.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in technical support or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of modern tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Helm charts, and Terraform.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Experience in documenting processes and creating knowledge base articles.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Knowledge of software development practices.
