Remote Staff Embedded Systems Engineer - SoC Specialist

What You'll Do
- Lead Silicon Strategy & Selection: Evaluate application processors for next-generation products, comparing performance, power, thermals, and long-term support across vendors like Qualcomm, TI, MediaTek, Rockchip, and Analog Devices.
- Provide honest assessments of vendor offerings, articulating the strengths and weaknesses of different SDKs and documentation.
- Design, develop, and maintain hardware abstraction layers (HALs) to minimize vendor lock-in and streamline future platform pivots.
- Guide the migration of existing applications and drivers from one vendor's BSP to another, ensuring seamless transitions.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for evaluating and abstracting our software stack across various silicon platforms.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Embedded Systems Engineer with a focus on System-on-Chip (SoC) architecture.
- Strong understanding of hardware-software integration and the nuances of silicon ecosystems.
- Experience with vendor ecosystems, toolchains, and Board Support Packages (BSPs).
- Ability to lead technical discussions and provide insights on vendor selection and strategy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with multiple silicon vendors and their respective SDKs.
- Familiarity with performance benchmarking and analysis tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards in embedded systems.
