About the Role

Join Palo Alto Networks as a Principal Machine Learning Inference Engineer and help shape the future of AI security. In this remote role, you will lead the architectural design of our cutting-edge AI platform, Prisma AIRS, ensuring robust security for AI-driven innovations.

What You'll Do

• Architect and design a scalable, low-latency ML inference platform for real-time security applications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team, promoting best practices in MLOps and system design.
• Drive the strategy for model and system performance, implementing advanced optimization techniques.
• Establish engineering standards for automated model deployment and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with principal engineers and product leaders to ensure system cohesion across the Prisma AIRS platform.
• Tackle complex technical challenges in large-scale inference, enhancing performance and security.

Requirements

• BS/MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
• Extensive experience in software engineering with a focus on MLOps and ML systems.
• Expert-level programming skills in Python; knowledge of Go, Java, or C++ is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Proven track record in architecting complex ML systems and MLOps pipelines.
• Mastery of ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and inference optimization tools.
• Understanding of popular model architectures (Transformers, CNNs, GNNs) is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) is desirable.

Nice to Have

• Experience with low-level performance optimization (custom CUDA kernel development).
• Familiarity with data infrastructure technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark).
