Principal Cybersecurity Specialist - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be the technical owner responsible for the configuration of access certification and review programs. This position is a contract opportunity for five months, with a strong potential for long-term extension.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the technical owner for the configuration of access certification and review programs.
  • Translate governance policies, regulatory requirements, and control objectives into scalable certification processes.
  • Define integration requirements for out-of-the-box and custom connectors, including API-based, file-based, and database-based integrations.
  • Architect and configure user, entitlement, role, and application certifications.
  • Collaborate with business and application teams to align governance requirements with source system capabilities.
  • Provide detailed technical explanations of certification logic and configurations to internal and external auditors.
  • Continuously evaluate features and industry best practices to enhance certification effectiveness.
  • Recommend governance and security enhancements to leadership based on risk assessments and audit findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) or Identity Access Management (IAM).
  • Hands-on experience with SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, focusing on access certifications and reviews.
  • Strong expertise in user, entitlement, and role certifications.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools used alongside SailPoint (e.g., REST APIs, PowerShell).
  • Ability to analyze data quality issues impacting certification accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey certification design and risk to stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting identity lifecycle processes and deprovisioning workflows.
  • Experience designing certification programs in complex or regulated environments.
  • Strong technical leadership and influence skills.
  • Knowledge of information security policies and governance controls in complex computing environments.
