About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Cyber Software Test Engineer to join our innovative team at Northrop Grumman. As a Principal Cyber Software Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of mission-critical software applications.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with an agile software development test team in a fast-paced environment, learning new tools and processes.
- Test new software applications across diverse platforms such as Windows, Linux, and Android, ensuring seamless integration with wireless services and custom hardware systems.
- Validate software requirements through various testing methods including functional, usability, performance, security, and regression tests.
- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for software systems.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings, contributing to technical discussions and defining new product functionalities.
- Review user stories and backlog items, analyzing the testability of requirements and providing actionable feedback.
- Identify issues promptly and communicate their impact to software developers and project managers to facilitate resolutions.
- Demonstrate software capabilities at the completion of sprints to key stakeholders, ensuring solutions meet customer requirements.
Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance or higher is required.
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, a Master's degree with 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year of relevant experience.
- Proven experience with diverse software and hardware testing methods throughout the development lifecycle.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple project tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in computer hardware and software systems.
- Ability to translate requirements and user stories into functional test plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for articulating test plans and facilitating product demonstrations.
- Experience in troubleshooting and isolating issues with a focus on providing solutions.
Nice to Have
- Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
- Experience writing custom automation scripts using languages like Python or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and agile management software such as Microsoft Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of computer security measures and UNIX command lines.
