About the Role

We are seeking a visionary President & CEO to lead the United Way of the Bluegrass (UWBG) in making a significant community impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our organization and drive meaningful change in Central Kentucky. As the President & CEO, you will be at the forefront of our mission, focusing on community needs and resource development while working remotely.

What You'll Do

• Lead the strategic direction of UWBG, ensuring alignment with community needs and organizational goals.
• Drive fundraising efforts by identifying and cultivating relationships with donors and corporate partners.
• Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement policies that enhance organizational effectiveness.
• Build and manage high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Oversee fiscal management, ensuring compliance and budget adherence while mitigating financial risks.
• Engage with community stakeholders to promote UWBG's mission and increase visibility.
• Utilize data analytics to measure impact and inform strategic decisions.
• Represent UWBG at public events and advocate for community needs at various government levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector.
• Proven track record in fundraising and securing significant financial support.
• Strong experience in strategic planning and fiscal management.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and across multiple generations.
• Demonstrated integrity and accountability in leadership roles.
• Flexibility to work on-site with occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Nice to Have

• Experience in public advocacy at local, state, and federal levels.
• Successful grant writing and management experience.
• Proficiency in data analytics and impact measurement.
