Business Intelligence Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our dynamic team at Tripledot Studios. This remote Business Intelligence Engineer role offers an exciting opportunity to work within one of the largest independent mobile games companies in the world. You will play a crucial role in scaling our loyalty and rewards ecosystem while leading the fraud analytics function.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain Looker dashboards and reports that surface major in-app metrics for PuzzlePlay and its game clients.
• Design metric logic, build aggregate tables, and own data modeling required for high-scale reporting.
• Create business-facing documentation, including metric definitions and dashboard guides.
• Collaborate with the business and Data Engineering, Analytics, and Product teams to incorporate new data sources and metrics.
• Write custom SQL rules to identify suspicious user flows and login patterns.
• Lead investigations into irregularities in metrics, combining data from multiple sources.
• Define and document BI best practices and conventions.
• Guide business areas to ensure consistency in knowledge and practice across the organization.

Requirements

• Experience building reports within Looker or a relevant BI tool.
• Extensive experience in SQL (Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.), including complex joins and pattern-recognition queries.
• Proven experience in a Data Analytics & BI role, delivering and maintaining metrics and dashboards.
• Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to organizing code and documentation.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is preferred.
• Experience in a mobile app, ad tech, or gaming company is a plus.

• Proficiency in Looker APIs.
• Experience with product and user acquisition teams.
