Platform Scientist - Remote Role in Biotech

$120K–$150K/year

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Platform Scientist to join our innovative team in a fully remote capacity. As a Platform Scientist, you will drive protein engineering campaigns from start to finish, discovering and refining epigenetic editor systems. This role is pivotal in establishing the operational and scientific infrastructure for our platform's growth. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy transforming complex workflows into streamlined processes, this Platform Scientist remote position is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Own the plasmid library lifecycle, including cloning strategies, library QC, and sequence verification.
  • Design and execute delivery strategies using lentiviral vectors and mRNA-based modalities.
  • Execute epigenetic editor screening campaigns in human cell lines, utilizing flow cytometry for scalable readouts.
  • Analyze large datasets to assess target expression kinetics and maintain rigorous electronic lab notebook (ELN) records.
  • Identify opportunities for outsourcing versus in-house development, managing partnerships effectively.

Requirements

  • PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field with 0-3 years of experience, or MS/BS with 4+ years in a relevant industry.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in mammalian molecular biology and experience with arrayed screening formats.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, including writing scripts for processing large datasets.
  • Experience with epigenetic editing techniques and familiarity with NGS-based assays.
  • Track record of managing complex research projects independently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience setting up or scaling a research lab in an early-stage company.
  • Direct experience with CRISPR-based gene regulation.
  • Familiarity with LNP-, AAV-, or mRNA-based delivery systems.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
  • Meaningful equity as a foundational member of our team.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and 401(k).
  • Direct collaboration on unsolved scientific problems with therapeutic relevance.
  • Opportunities to shape the scientific culture and operational DNA of our company.
  • Visa sponsorship available where applicable.
