About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator remote to join our team on a 6-month contract with the potential to convert to a full-time position. This role is 100% remote, and you must be legally entitled to work in Canada. As a Network Administrator remote, you will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining our hybrid network environment, ensuring stability and security across our operations.
What You'll Do
- Provide L2 network administration and support across on-premises and Azure environments.
- Perform proactive monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization of network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity, routing, and performance issues.
- Administer and support Cisco networking equipment, including switching, routing, and wireless.
- Manage and maintain Fortinet firewalls, including VPN configurations and security policies.
- Support Azure networking components, including virtual networks (VNets).
- Ensure adherence to security best practices, including Zero Trust frameworks.
- Document configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in network administration within enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (routing, switching, wireless).
- Proven experience managing Fortinet firewalls, including NGFW and VPN configurations.
- Experience supporting Azure networking (VNets, hybrid connectivity).
- Solid understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs).
- Strong L2 troubleshooting skills across network infrastructure.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (Netgear or similar).
- Working knowledge of Zero Trust security principles.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Network+.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with network automation or scripting.
