Mobile Interaction Designer - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
ING is seeking a Mobile Interaction Designer to join their UX Centre of Expertise and support the development of the ING native mobile app. This Mobile Interaction Designer remote position is ideal for a medior-level designer (3–5 years of experience) who thrives in a collaborative yet autonomous environment. You will be embedded in a multidisciplinary squad as the sole designer, working closely with developers and business stakeholders while being supported by a broader UX community of approximately 50 professionals.
What You'll Do
- Design intuitive and user-centered interaction flows for native mobile applications.
- Contribute to and enhance existing design systems.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders.
- Translate complex requirements into clear interaction solutions.
- Advocate for UX best practices and defend design decisions with stakeholders.
- Operate independently within a squad while leveraging support from the UX Chapter.
Requirements
- Proven track record in designing native mobile applications.
- Strong focus on interaction design (not visual/UI design).
- Experience working with design systems.
- Ability to manage stakeholders effectively and communicate design decisions clearly.
- Comfortable working as the only designer in a squad.
- Experience in complex corporate environments (e.g., banking, insurance, energy) is highly preferred.
- Strong sense of ownership and the confidence to challenge stakeholders when needed.
Nice to Have

- Independent but collaborative mindset.
- Fluent in English (Dutch is not required).
What We Offer
- 6 months contract with the possibility of extension.
- A 36 or 40 hour workweek with flexible hours and a hybrid working model (office and home-based).
- Salary range: €3.872 - €6.345 gross per month (based on 36 hours per week, based on experience).
- Additional benefits: holiday allowance, 13th month, and pension contributions.
