Mid-Senior Applied AI Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mid-Senior Applied AI Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As a Mid-Senior Applied AI Engineer remote professional, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable artificial intelligence solutions within our enterprise AI platform. This position requires architectural thinking to build robust GenAI services, complex retrieval pipelines (RAG), and agentic workflows.

What You'll Do

• Design and build core AI application components supporting enterprise AI initiatives, including agentic workflows, batch processing, and data integrations.
• Implement and optimize sophisticated embeddings, vector search strategies, and multi-agent workflows to handle both text and structured data retrieval from core enterprise systems.
• Develop secure, high-performance backend APIs primarily using FastAPI and Python to facilitate seamless integration between foundational models and internal enterprise architecture.
• Work with multiple LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) via model-agnostic routing layers, optimizing for cost, latency, and task-specific performance.
• Collaborate directly with AI Program Managers and Business Analysts during the intake phase to assess technical feasibility, architecture requirements, and data readiness for new business requests.
• Drive the deployment of AI systems, establishing CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and robust LLM monitoring.
• Ensure all AI components strictly adhere to enterprise AI governance, security, and data privacy standards.
• Provide technical guidance and code reviews for junior developers on the team.

Requirements

• Deep familiarity with API integration and prompting for OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), and Google (Gemini) models.
• Advanced proficiency in LangChain, LangGraph, and LlamaIndex for building RAG pipelines and agentic decisioning systems.
• Strong expertise in Python and FastAPI, with basic working knowledge of Node.js.
• Experience designing schemas and optimizing queries for Vector Databases and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud and Azure AI Services.
• Proficiency with Git, Docker, and CI/CD principles.
• Familiarity with React or Next.js for building lightweight AI-powered interfaces.
