About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapist 2 to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will provide essential counseling services to students in grades TK-12, ensuring their mental well-being and academic success. As a Mental Health Therapist 2, you will play a crucial role in fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing their mental health needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create a positive school culture.
- Conduct screenings and assessments to identify students' mental health challenges.
- Develop and implement therapeutic interventions and goals for students.
- Supervise counseling trainees and interns, guiding their professional development.
- Participate in IEP meetings and assist in the development of IEP goals related to mental health.
- Provide crisis counseling and referrals as necessary, ensuring students receive appropriate support.
- Maintain accurate case files and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, or related field preferred.
- Clinical Licensure through the BBS is required.
- Experience working with students in grades TK-12.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize urgent needs effectively.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic models, including CBT and Play Therapy.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of belonging and well-being within the school community.
Nice to Have
- PPS credential or eligibility for PPS credential.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
