About the Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer - Remote to join our team at Vertiv, a global leader in mission-critical infrastructure technologies. This role is essential for ensuring a seamless transition from design to production, focusing on manufacturability, cost optimization, and product scalability. With a strong emphasis on Engineering-to-Manufacturing (E2M) processes, you will play a key role in our innovative projects.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using PTC Creo.
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Drive the E2M process, supporting product transition from concept to serial production.
  • Produce and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, industrialization, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Support prototyping, validation builds, and production ramp-up phases.
  • Work closely with suppliers to validate design feasibility and manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, design simplification, and performance improvement.
  • Manage engineering changes through CR (Change Request) and CO (Change Order) processes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, specifications, and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in mechanical design with E2M or industrialization exposure.
  • Strong proficiency in PTC Creo (preferred CAD system).
  • Solid understanding of DFM/DFA methodologies.
  • Experience with PLM systems and BOM management.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, casting, sheet metal, plastics, etc.).
  • Experience supporting production ramp-up and manufacturing validation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in complex or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
