Mechanical Development Intern - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Development Intern to join our innovative team at SSI Schäfer. This Mechanical Development Intern remote position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our Shuttle Systems development team, contributing to the implementation of new features and maintaining our system modularity. You will analyze requirements, create 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor, and prepare manufacturing drawings and parts lists for our production facilities.

What You'll Do

• Support the development team in designing and implementing new functionalities for Shuttle Systems.
• Analyze project requirements and create detailed 3D models in Autodesk Inventor.
• Generate associated manufacturing drawings and parts lists for production.
• Assist in managing functional and durability testing setups.
• Collaborate with team members to develop constructive solutions to engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor.
• Strong understanding of complex mechatronic systems.
• Analytical thinking and engineering approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and enjoy teamwork.
• Fluent in German and proficient in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with CAD software beyond Autodesk Inventor.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
• Previous internship experience in a related field.
