About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handling Technician to join our team at Ventura Foods. This position is a night shift role that requires a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Material Handling Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of materials within our facility, which is essential for meeting customer demands.

What You'll Do

  • Physically pull raw materials from various warehouse locations based on order requirements, utilizing RF scanning technology.
  • Return residual materials to the correct locations while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Weigh and update inventory systems with correct quantities and weights, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to report shortages and assist in reordering materials to meet production deadlines.
  • Utilize basic math skills to ensure accurate material counts and weights, including knowledge of the metric system.
  • Participate in safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform other general duties as needed to support warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a production or warehouse/distribution environment.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs or more and work in refrigerated areas.
  • Experience with RF scanners and basic computer literacy.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must pass skills and written tests for forklift certification.
  • Excellent math skills are essential for this role.
